Life Lately…

Fallen a little behind here lately. Have had SO MUCH going on! I actually been getting some business and we’ve had a lot of family things going on as well.

At the beginning of the month I had done some monograming for a very dear friend. She needs the shirts early because she was having routine sinus surgery and wanted to give them to her daughter and son’s girlfriend beforehand. Sadly she had complications in her surgery and didn’t make it. It is so hard for me to talk/write about still. She was my first friend at my last job and we worked under the same doctor so we talked constantly whether it was work related or not. She was one of the most beautiful souls you could ever meet and a woman of God.

I can’t say I’ve handled it well either. My poor husband has seen me cry A LOT this past month. I’m so glad that I got to monogram her shirts and see her one last time 1 day before her surgery. I feel like that was God’s way of saying, “Here…I want you to have this and remember her this way.” When I found out what had happened I went to the hospital she was in. I got to hold her hand and thank her for being a great friend and told her how much I loved her. I couldn’t stay for them to turn off the machines and take her off life support. I did good to be there and do what I did. The visitation and funeral were very hard and are now kind of blurry. But I will never forget her and it was truly a blessing to have had her as my friend. I love you Katrina and I will forever miss you contagious laugh and that smile!

We went and did some shopping to try and take my mind off things

Katrina and I always went to our local ice cream parlor for our birthdays. If it was my birthday she bought and vice versa. We buried her the day before her 42nd birthday. So it was only fitting that I uphold our tradition. Landon and I met with the doctor she and I worked for and had our tradition ice cream with birthday sprinkles…

I’ve been trying to keep myself busy so I’ve been doing some Valentine orders.

And I’ve done a couple of Easter and Spring orders

I am really enjoying the feedback I’m getting. I’ve gotten a few big orders too! I have a new Etsy shop! You can visit it here!

On Valentine’s Day, Cupid was up early to leave gifts for her sweethearts!

Landon is very into Planes so when we find new ones we get them for gifts. And The Jungle Book was released from the Disney Vault and I was super pumped!

He was so excited! Cupid brought me some goodies too! And my sweet Daddy even delivered me a Valentine to work!

That night instead of going out and fighting the crowds we stayed in and cooked dinner!

I love watching him play and listen to his little conversations with his toys

I got me some good Valentine sugas from my sweet boy!

The next night Jason and I went to a birthday party! He took off work so we could have a night out!

My husband is so crazy. They cooked a hog and there was a bon fire and we had the best time!

  1. So sorry to hear about your friend! I can't imagine how hard that must be, especially since it was so unexpected and she was so young! The tshirts you made for Valentine's Day are adorable and its good to do something to get your mind off of things.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words! Thanks for stopping by my blog! And I'm so glad you like the appliques! Hope you come back and visit soon!
